The Greek army entered Kozani, Greece, on 11th October 1912, during the First Balkan War, after its victory against the Ottoman army.
The 11th October 2012 was celebrated as the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Kozani. Many events took place, including historical lectures, concerts and parades.

I like the vivid colors here, it has appeal, and you are right about bw version-enhances the girls face. Both are beautiful in its own right.

I prefer the color one

Because the color of the scarf she wore (is it scarf? at first I thought it was a wig) gives contradiction to her expression

But as Alphan and Doug said, different people, different opinion
